Tonight my son and I sat and discussed what he might be when he grows up. He announced to me that he would like to be an astronaut. When I replied that he could be whatever he wanted to be, he countered with, “but mom, what if I get sucked into a black hole?” I responded by telling him that he could just stay in his space shuttle and he said, “yeah… I could just stay in there with all the other guys.” It is really rough having a kid with my husband’s desire to learn new information and an outstanding memory. What a sponge.

Why can’t I search music on the I-Touch
Today I wanted to search for a few songs on the I touch and realized it was not a feature. Copy, Paste, Edit, and Music Search. These seemed obvious to me, maybe in 3.0

Aaron comes home
Aaron came home on Tuesday and we are just beginning to develop the new routine. Eli has begun playing with Aaron, mostly by rubbing his head and watching over him in his pack n play.

Eli’s first LightSaber
Over the weekend I captured Eli playing with a light-saber in the cul-de-sac. Figured this would give me a good excuse to download and play with Gimp. After a quick google search I found a great tutorial that provided all that I needed to turn the play light-saber into the real thing.
Here are the before and after pictures

Nesting 2.0
Often times you hear about expectant mother’s nesting, as they prepare for the new ute to arrive. Lisa has been going through this phase hard core in the last few weeks, each day has a new list of tasks. While this stage is usually quite different for the guys (usually we are getting yelled at more around this phase), I have been going through my own nesting phase, Nesting 2.0. After a few technical slip ups after the first pregnancy I am trying to be more preparred this time.
Key nesting 2.0 steps
- Transfer all videos from DV tape to a computer
- Perform a trial run with the DV camcorder to remember how to work it. (Hence why I was running around Eli’s birthday party with the camcorder)
- Setup a podcast url for new videso. (More on this later)
- Fix up the older Videos page with my new podcast feed. (More on this later)
- Try out a new blogging tool (Wordpress, thanks Mark)
- Show Eli a lot of his old videos on my new ipod touch to keep the first born excited about the new baby.
- Create an email and snail mail list for future announcements.
- Toy with the idea of setting up a twitter account to quickly tell people when the new babe has arrived.
